St George’s Day Care operates in our Nursing Home in Milford on Sea to provide a welcoming environment for the elderly and individuals with physical disabilities so that they can enjoy some good company, a hearty meal and participate in some of the everyday activities on offer in our nursing home and with the support of our trained staff and team of Registered Nurses on hand throughout the day.
Attending day services can help to relieve the loneliness for those living on their own and assists in maintaining independence. Day Care services are also suitable for people who live with relatives, enabling family carers to have some respite with the peace of mind that their relative is being cared for in a safe environment.
Everyone attending can be provided with a full lunch and has the opportunity to participate in the extensive range of social activities available including arts & crafts, games, lectures, quizzes, bingo, knit and natter sessions and gardening clubs. We offer gentle exercise classes and entertainment afternoons. We also have therapy animals that pop in to say hello from time to time. Mr Kellogg’s the small show Pony, Princess the beautiful little friendly dog, owls and birds of prey as well as our lovely resident cat Fluffy. Refreshments are available throughout the day.
St George’s has its own minibus that can take up to 15 passengers and is often used to transport our residents and Day Care clients to local pubs, tea rooms and other places of interest such as forest drives, local site-seeing tours, Exbury Gardens and Poole Harbour for our annual boat trips.
Day Care is available Monday to Friday from 10.30 to 4pm, with varied times available each day.
Full day’s Day Care which starts at 10.30 and finishes at 16.00 and includes lunch, the activity of the day and afternoon tea.
Morning Day Care which starts at 10.30am and finishes at 14.00pm and includes morning tea and social and lunch.
Afternoon Day Care which starts at 12.30am and finishes at 16.00pm and includes lunch, afternoon tea and the activity of the day.
