St. George’s is a private nursing home providing professional and sympathetic care in a personal, friendly and comfortable environment. It has accommodation for 56 residents in single occupancy rooms, most with en-suite facilities.
Each room is provided with a nurse call system, direct dial telephone and remote control television. There are comfortable sitting rooms and a courtyard garden with many attractive features for the use of residents and visitors. Our sun lounge and sitting room give the opportunity to enjoy the courtyard garden views during inclement weather and in the winter.
Nursing Home Fees
Rooms starting from £1027.00 per week (subject to NHS contributions when applicable).
Advice can be given in the extent of financial assistance that can be claimed from the NHS or Local Authorities with regard to the payment of fees.
Care Facilities
St. George’s is registered to take adults for general nursing care including convalescence, terminally ill, acute medical, post operative, respite and physically disabled.
Staff at St. George’s are selected for their understanding and ability to communicate a genuine interest in the welfare of residents and we have a higher ratio of trained nurses than most local Nursing Homes.

Location
St. George’s is situated in Milford-on-Sea on the edge of the New Forest in a most attractive environment, a short walk to the sea from where there are splendid views of the Isle of Wight and The Needles. Bournemouth is half an hour away, Southampton within 20 miles and the main line railway station 4 miles away at New Milton.
There are fast regular train services from London (Waterloo) taking under 2 hours and the M3 motorway enables the drive from London to be made in similar time.
Convalescence
The high quality of nursing care enables St. George’s to offer post operative and general convalescence facilities. Residents can enjoy recuperation in a pleasant, comfortable and caring environment.
Holiday Relief
Families who care for relatives at home require a holiday at times and need to feel confident that they will be looked after with kindness and consideration while they are away. Rooms can be booked in advance and the care required discussed to ensure a comfortable and happy stay.
Meals
Catering is of the highest standard for quality, preparation, choice and presentation. A varied first class menu is offered by our award-winning chefs. Each day nursing staff visit and discuss menu options and any special dietary requirements with residents. Visitors are welcome to take meals at a small charge.
Activities and Events
Our Activity Co-ordinators offer an extensive range of outings and events for all residents. Some of the many activities include forest drives, local site-seeing tours, entertainment afternoons, choir practice, one to one walks, exercise classes, jewellery and gardening club, shopping and boat trips.
Complimentary Therapy
Complimentary Therapy by our fully qualified therapist is available. Treatments are individually tailored to ease bodily symptoms such as stress related symptoms, back ache, muscle and joint discomfort, IBS, lymphedema and to promote relaxation. These include aromatherapy, manual lymphatic drainage and bandaging, reflexology, remedial massage and thermal auricular therapy (Ear Candles).
General Practitioners
Regular weekly visits are provided by our local Doctors Surgery and consultation is available for all residents in the comfort of their own rooms.

Chiropody
Chiropody is available from our qualified practitioner on a regular basis. Arrangements can be made for continuation of treatment at home following discharge from St. George’s.
Hairdresser
Hairdressing services are available on a weekly basis.
Library
A selection of books including large print editions are kept at St. George’s.
Laundry and Dry Cleaning
A personal laundry and dry cleaning service is available. Arrangements are made with the nursing staff.
Newspapers and Post
Daily and Sunday newspapers can be ordered as required and stamps, writing paper and envelopes may be obtained from the Receptionist. Incoming mail is delivered daily and outgoing mail may be left at Reception for posting.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy by our Chartered Physiotherapist is available as prescribed by resident’s medical advisors. Arrangements can be made for continuation of treatment at home following discharge from St. George’s.
Taxis
If required, taxis can be booked with Reception, or journeys arranged using St. George’s own vehicles that can cater for wheelchairs and stretchers.
